    Product Principle

    The high-voltage cable sheath overvoltage protector (referred to as: sheath protector) produced by our company adopts high-energy large cross-section resistance sheets as the protection unit and silicone rubber pressed outer jacket as the external insulation. It has outstanding advantages such as good protection performance, smooth and beautiful appearance, sealed explosion-proof, and maintenance-free. The sheath protector is installed at the cable line and the cable terminal position, and its function is

    Firstly,Limit the power frequency induced current in the metal sheath of the cable line;

    Second, rapidly reduce the power frequency overvoltage and impulse overvoltage in the metal sheath of the cable line, that is:

    • When the cable line is in the normal working state, the high-voltage cable sheath protector presents a high-resistance state, cutting off the power frequency induced current circuit in the metal sheath of the cable.
    • When a grounding fault, lightning overvoltage or operational overvoltage occurs in the cable line, causing a very high power frequency overvoltage or impulse overvoltage in the metal sheath of the cable, the high-voltage cable sheath protector presents a low-resistance conduction state, allowing the impulse current to quickly flow into the ground through the protector, playing a role in protecting the insulation of the outer sheath of the cable, while the disconnector does not act.
    • When power frequency overvoltage or impulse overvoltage excessively impacts the sheath protector, causing it to break down or burst, the disconnector acts instantly, disconnecting the grounding circuit to ensure that no circulating current passes through the cable sheath. At the same time, it facilitates maintenance personnel to detect faults and replace them in a timely manner.
